With over 38 years of project management experience, Bryan Butler, MBA, PMP, PMI-ACP, LIMC 2017 provides training and education facilitation, coaching, and mentoring in both the Agile framework and traditional waterfall and project management methodologies. In addition, Bryan has been with the Project Management Institute (PMI) since 1999.
Bryan, a seasoned facilitator and educator, has conducted dozens of PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) and PMI Certified Agile Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Exam Preparation Boot Camps for the local PMI Western Idaho Chapter, and for many local and global companies. Through these classes, he has helped mentor hundreds of project management professionals in their pursuit of these credentials.
While serving as VP of Professional Development for local PMI Western Idaho Chapter, Bryan was responsible for initiating the PMI Agile PMI-ACP Boot Camp as a course offering for the Chapter.
As Agile Instructor with Micron Technology for over 5 years, Bryan helped create an Agile project management culture by instructing over 1000 global team members on the principles and use of Agile.
At the higher education level, Bryan taught project management and other business management classes at University of Phoenix for over 10 years, and he currently teaches both undergraduate and masters-level project management courses at Boise State University.
Through his active engagement with the PMI, Bryan as achieved both his Project Management Professional (PMP), and his Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certifications.
On a global level, Bryan has been actively engaged with the PMI and is a 2017 graduate of the PMI Leadership Institute Master Class. Bryan was elected to and served on the Board of Directors of the PMI Western Idaho Chapter for 7 years in the President, President Elect, Past President, and VP of Professional Development roles.
Bryan holds a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Engineering Technology from Purdue University, and an MBA Degree in Business Administration from the Penn State - Behrend Campus in Erie, Pennsylvania, and was a Certified Lead Facilitator with the University of Phoenix for over 10 years. Bryan has managed projects in several functional areas including design engineering, purchasing, materials management, ERP systems consulting, systems administration, test management, supply chain, and information technology.
During his career, Bryan has experience with both small companies, and large corporations, including General Electric, ABB, Deloitte Consulting, and Micron Technology. He has also worked in many industries including agricultural field harvesting and in-plant food processing equipment, transit/subway car rebuild programs, new locomotive production, ERP systems consulting, systems administration, and high-technology industries. Bryan also spent one summer as a commercial salmon fisherman in Alaska!
